HighlightsWhew! The weeks have just been flying by! The class has been busy preparing for ISATs and studying for Math and Science tests. Luckily we have all made it through in one piece! We also celebrated Valentine’s Day last week which we had lots of fun doing thanks to our wonderful moms who helped out. We couldn’t have done it without you! Not only did we celebrate Valentine’s Day, but we also had a baby shower for Mrs. Watson and baby Drew, complete with decorations. Thank you to everyone who contributed, Mrs. Watson really loved the gifts and the party.
The class will be
continuing our ISAT practice in Math, Reading, and Science. Language
Arts Our
reading story this week is “A Peddler’s Dream” by: Janice
Shefelman. Our skill this
week is plot. In English,
we will review adverbs and begin work on pronouns. Math The students will be continuing their unit on Multiplying by Two-Digit Numbers. They will work this week on practicing multiplying by two digit numbers, the problem solving strategy making a list, and multiplying greater numbers. We have been practicing our multiplication facts as much as possible to prepare for ISATs as well as to do our best on our current Math unit. In class we have been playing games with flashcards, playing multiplication games on the computer, and getting extra practice through fun multiplication worksheets. There are links to fun games to play at home on the school website under “Links for Students” as well. These are great resources to use at home to keep us sharp on our multiplication facts if possible. Please continue to practice at home!Science/Social Studies Its Science Fair Time!!! This year is going to be our first year to have the 4th grade conduct their own Science Fair Projects, with the help of parents, to be presented at our Math and Science Night. This week the entire 4th grade will be getting information on this project to bring home, as well as picking their Science Fair projects they would like to conduct. I will be sending home more information throughout the week as well.
In social studies, the
students will be doing Presidential Studies. |
